Where to Save and Where to Splurge

I am what is known as a ‘frugal’ person.  But there are a few things in which I will invest extra money.

  • Quality Fabrics; This will save you a lot of money in the long run, better fabrics wash better, they retain their shape and they tend to be better for your skin. Polyester is ok, but I highly recommend getting polyester blended with other natural fibers.  I tend to avoid acrylic altogether.  Even 5% of acrylic in a garment will make my skin freak out.

  • Good Foundation; After watching a few makeup tutorials, I tried out a couple more expensive foundations and found that not only does it look better in photos, it stays on much longer and since I don’t have to reapply throughout the day or use high quantities, it actually saves me money in the long run.

  • Comfortable Shoes; Aside from the pain of childbirth, men will also never understand the pain that women go through because of high heel shoes.  Sore feet can ruin your day, not to mention drain a ton of energy and cause some serious long term back pain.  So when I find a pair of shoes that look great and are comfortable throughout an 8 hour day, they are totally worth spending a little extra money.  I love wedges or platforms with thick heels and I actually find these much more comfortable than flats because they have more cushion in the sole.  You will find a ton of these on smeebleshop.com and I hope to add some of my own comfortable but sexy designs as the business grows!
